OneUp Sales began life in August 2015 when the two co-founders, Derry Holt and James Heath, had a brainwave on one rainy drive home. Following a spell in the video games industry, the pair set out to fuse the engaging power of video games with everyday business activities to make work more enjoyable and productive. All it took was a sentence.
"What about if we put sales people into a fantasy league and let everyone around them pick fantasy teams where they're the players? Or something like that? I dunno, never mind.."
"... Nah, go on?"
The rest is history, but it gave birth to a pretty awesome platform. Having closed a round of investment and expanded the team to 7-strong, OneUp Sales is poised for lift off in 2017.
OneUp is a young start-up with the ambition, drive, and tenacity of a much larger company.
